4 C small bread crumbs
1/2 C melted butter or margarine
3/4 t cinnamon
1/8 t salt
3/4 C brown sugar - packed
1 t vanilla
Heavy Cream

Directions:
Directions:
Mix bread crumbs, margarine, cinnamon, salt and brown sugar. Arrange alternate layers of crumb mixture and apples in buttered baking dish.

Bake in 375º oven for one hour. Serve warm.

Mix butter, powdered sugar and vanilla with enough cream to hold together. May add rum or brandy.

Serve with or over top of Brown Betty.
