Directions:
n a sauce pan over medium heat add your sugar and liquor and slowly cook until the sugar has melted, is bubbling and turned a golden color. Do not walk away and pay close attention. Things happen fast.

Pour the liquid into your plan that you have lined with parchment paper. Pick up the pan and slowly rotate it to thin out the liquid. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or so until the liquid is hard.

This is a dumb simple garnish to make. It's really delicious and you can crumble the caramel and sprinkle over ice cream or break it into large pieces (The pieces look like chunks of stain glass. Really beautiful) to stick on the side or decorate a cake with or just plain eat. Amaretto really works well. You can also add a dash of vanilla to add an extra layer of flavor.

Here's a thought and I've never done this before. At the last second after you take the caramel off the fire add in some food color. Now anyone that knows me knows I'm colorblind so I've never tried this. The caramel starts out with an amber color so you need to know your color wheel and add the right food color that works to achieve the desired results. As I said before the in results resemble Stainglass and is really pretty. I just thought it's a neat idea. If you do it, and I'm still around let me know how it turns out!
