One medium cabbage
Salt
3 chopped medium onions
1 tsp celery seed

SAUCE
3/4 cup vinegar
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 Tbsp butter
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp dry mustard
1 Tbsp flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Finely shred cabbage head & sprinkle with salt.
2. Place in a large bowl & make a deep well to hold sauce.
3. Into this hole, place chopped onions & celery seed.

SAUCE
1. Make sauce with remainder of ingredients in a pot
2. constantly stir until thickens. (or use double boiler)
3. Pour over cabbage & onions which is in a large bowl and let stand for one hour.
4. Mix it up and place in refridgerator.

I like to place it in a jar ..... the older it is the better it gets. It can be used a a side dish (best to make the night before or in the morning) or as a condiment in a sandwich, etc
