2 c. sugar
2/3 c. cooking oil
3 eggs, added one at a time
1/4 c. orange juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
3 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans or black walnuts
3 c. chopped fresh apples
1 c. coconut
Glaze:
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the sugar, cooking oil and orange juice together. Blend eggs in one at a time. . Add the cinnamon, salt, flour, baking soda and vanilla; mix. Add the remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly. Cook in a tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 325º. Let stay in pan and pour glaze over.

To make glaze, melt the stick of butter, adding 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of buttermilk and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Bring mixture to a rapid boil, then remove from heat. Pour over hot cake and let stand for one hour
