1 pint persimmon pulp
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 c sugar
1 pint milk
4 eggs, beaten well
4 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp all spice, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, 1/3 tsp nutmeg
1/2 lb butter or margarine

Directions:

Add baking soda to persimmon pulp; beat in sugar; add milk and well beaten eggs. Stir thoroughly. Sift all dry ingredients together then add to the persimmon mixture; Beat until smooth. Add butter or margarine (may be melted but not hot).
Pour into a greased 9x13x2 pan. Bake at 300º for approx. 1 hour. (Sides will be pulled away from pan.
Cut into squares and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
