⅓ cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
½ cup milk
grated rind of 1 lemon
½ cup chopped walnuts
TOPPING:
juice from 1 lemon
⅛ cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter and sugar; beat in the eggs. Mix together and add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture. Fold in the lemon rind and nuts. Bake 350º for 50 minutes in a greased loaf pan. Mix sugar and juice. As soon as the bread is removed from the oven spoon it over the top of the bread letting it run down the sides. Remove from pan after cooling for an hour.
