Directions:
Drain and chop the clams, reserving the drained liquor. Fry the bacon until crisp, drain on paper towels, set aside most of the bacon but reserving a little for garnish. Saute onion in the bacon drippings until tender. Add the reserved clam liquor and water if needed to make 1 cup of liquid, potatoes, seasonings and clams. Cook for about 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Add corn, milk, bacon, and butter. Heat through but don't allow to boil. Add the cracker crumbs to thicken the chowder.
