2 15 oz. cans sliced peaches in syrup (frozen or fresh (peeled and sliced) peaches can be substituted)
1/2 C. butter (1 stick)
1 C. Self-Rising flour
1 C. sugar
1 C. Milk

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350

Drain 1 can of peaches and reserve the syrup from the other (if using fresh or frozen peaches, skip this step).

Place the butter in a 9 x 13 pan and heat in the oven until it is melted.
In a medium bowl, mix the flour and sugar. Stir in the milk and the reserved syrup. Carefully remove the baking dish from the oven and pour the batter over the melted butter. Arrange the peaches over the batter.
Bake for 1 hour. The cobbler is done when the batter rises around the peaches and the crust is thick and golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
