1 1lb ground chuck, or sirloin
1 T shortening
2 t salt
1 onion, chopped very fine
1 T yellow mustard
1 T vinegar
1 T sugar
Water to cover meat
Salt and pepper to taste

Soft hamburger rolls
Cheese Whiz
Chopped spicy pickles- Famous Dave's
Ketchup, mustard

Get out a cast iron skillet, or other skillet. Melt shortening over medium heat and lightly salt bottom of skillet. Break ground beef up in skillet and start crumbling it with the back of a wooden spoon. Meat must be in small crumbles. Add chopped onion while browning meat. When meat is browned, drain off any fat and return meat and onion mixture to skillet. Add mustard, vinegar, sugar and just enough water to barely cover meat in the pan. Cook, at a simmer, until the water is cooked out, 15-20 minutes. Heat your hamburger buns, if you'd like. Add condiments and cheese to bun. Top with meat.
