Mama's Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Dough:
1 C Hot water, not boiling but quite warm
1 t sugar
1 pkg yeast
1/4 C sugar
1/2 T salt
1 1/2 T shortening
1 egg beaten
2 1/2 C flour

Caramel:
1/3 C butter
2 T corn syrup
1/2 C + 2 T brown sugar

Cinnamon mixture:1/4 C sugar
2 t cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Dough: Take 1/3 C of water, add 1 t sugar and yeast. elt stand 10 minutes. In a large bowl, put 2/3 C of water, add sugar, salt, shortening and egg. Add yeast and stir together. Stir in flour, then knead. Butter a bowl and butter the dough, place dough in bowl and cover with towel and let rise until double.
Caramel: Melt together the butter, corn syrup and brown sugar. Spread into a 13 x 9 cake pan.

Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread dough with soft butter. Sprinkle cinnamon mixture evenly on top. Roll up, then cut into 1/2 inch pieces, place on top of caramel and let rise 40 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Flip over and enjoy!
