2 cups flour
3 TBSP sugar
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 stick (2oz) butter
1/2 cup milk
pinch of salt
white raisins or cranberries (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400F
Pulse all the dry ingredients in Cuisinart mixer with metal blade. Add the butter. Process.. With machine still on pour the milk through the feed tube in a slow steady stream until a soft dough is formed.
Roll out onto lightly floured board to about 3/4 inch thick and cut into small 2 inch rounds with round cookie cutter.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for about 20 minutes.
Serve with strawberry jam and whipped cream.
