4-6 medium green peppers (halved and cored out)
1 lb. ground meat
1/3 cup chopped onion
2 cups stewed tomatoes (or 1 pound can)
3/4 -1 cup packaged Minute Rice
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
1 cup shredded sharp process American cheese or about 6 slices
American or Velveeta cheese.

Boil cleaned and halved peppers in boiling salted water for 5 min. and drain. Lay in a 9x13 pan and salt inside of peppers.

Brown meat with onion. (I use ground round or ground sirloin) Add tomatoes, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer until rice is tender (about 5 minutes) Add cheese and stuff peppers. I then pour tomato sauce over the top.

Bake at 350º for 25 minutes uncovered. At the end place a strip of sliced cheese over each stuffed pepper and serve.

Great to make in summer when peppers are plentiful. Then you can freeze them for a quick meal at another time. Grandpa loves them.
