Ingredients:
Ingredients:
shredded cabbage
chopped onion
chopped celery
chopped green pepper
celery seed
fresh lemon juice
sugar
mayonaise

Directions:
Directions:
I have never had any proportions for this slaw, Just add as much as you would like of the onion, celery and green pepper. The dressing, again, is just how you would want to make it. I would roughly suggest the juice of one or two lemons, a T. of sugar and a cup of mayo. Mix all this together and add the celery seed, then salt. Chill as long as you have time, turning occasionally.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
As best as I can remember, this recipe became part of my lexicon not too long after Jerry and I married. We were living in Refugio, Texas and I had an OU Theta friend who lived in Victoria that I occasionally visited, and I believe this was one of her recipes. Having never liked "sweet slaw", this became my favorite for picnics and barbeques.
