1 lb. hamburger
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
8 cups boiling water
13 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 cup celery chopped
2 tsp. soya sauce
1 cup carrots chopped
1 cup uncooked macaroni - whole grain is fine

Directions:

Brown hamburger in a frying pan. Drain off any fat. In a large pan add all of the ingredients together except the macaroni. Once this mixture is boiling add the macaroni and simmer until the desired thickness. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Linda omits the dry onion soup mix and uses beef bouillon and a little chopped onion or sweet pepper or both. Or she uses some beef stock instead of water and leaves out the bouillon. 1 tablespoon pot barley can be added with macaroni for more fiber. Or you can omit the macaroni and just use 1/3 - 1/2 cup pot barley.
