Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 º F.
In a large bowl, cream 1 cup butter with sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
Stir in oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a heavy saucepan over low heat, combined condensed milk, chocolate chips, and 2 tablespoons of butter.
Heat and stir until smooth.
(The melting of the chocolate chips in the condensed milk can be done in the microwave, but be very careful not to burn it).
Remove from the heat and stir in nuts and 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
Press 2/3 of the oat mixture into an ungreased 10 X 15 inch (25 X 40 cm) cookie sheet (that has sides) or jelly roll pan. Spread chocolate mixture over the oat layer. Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture.
Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly brown on top.
Once cool cut into squares and store chilled in an air tight container.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
These are like Matrimonial Cake – creamy chocolate replaces the date filling.
Can use quick oats instead of rolled.
