4 cups of cooked broccoli florets
1 1/2 C. cooked chicken
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup or Fat-Free Cream of Chicken Soup
1/3 C. milk
1/2 C. shredded Cheddar cheese
2 Tbs. of dry bread crumbs
1 Tbs. butter or margarine, melted

Place broccoli and chicken in 9" pie plate OR a 2 qt. shallow baking dish, or larger quantity in a 13x9 pan
Mix soup and milk, pour over. Sprinkle with cheese
Mix bread crumbs with butter and sprinkle over the top.

Bake at 450º for 20 minutes or until hot.

An alternative method is to create a white sauce (2 Tbs. butter, 2 Tbs. Flour and 2 C. of Milk, heat until thickened and melt the cheese into it, then pour over the chicken and broccoli.)

Serve with rice simmered in chicken broth and a salad.

This is an easy method for chicken divan, but I usually prefer to make the white sauce/cheese sauce for a creamier dish.
Making the white sauce, you first heat the butter and flour until well-blended then add the milk, and stir until it begins to thicken, then add the cheese until it is well-blended and creamy. The recipe is in this book in the sauce section.

Substitute: when I made this recentlyand discovered I didn't have the broccoli when I already had the sauce made and the chicken pre-cooked ( I like to brown it slightly). So without broccoli, I used frozen spinach instead! It was great and actually added a different flavor to the dish. I would think you might substitute most any vegetable or vegetables.
