8 eggs lightly beaten
1 1/2 c. half n' half
1 T. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
8 (1/2" thick) slices French bread

1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. maple syrup
3/4 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl. Beat with a wire whisk.
Pour 1 c. egg mixture into greased 9 x 13" baking dish. Place bread in dish
and pour remaining egg mixture over bread. Cover and chill for 8 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350o. Combine last 4 ingredients in microwave safe bowl. Cover with plate or plastic wrap and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Pour
over bread.,
Bake uncovered at 350o for 30 minutes until set and golden.

Our Cloudcroft neighbor, Joy Crowley, served this at her annual "welcome
summer" brunch on their deck. Everyone had a great time and Joy's buffet table was laden with the dishes she prepared as well as the things that neighbors contributed.
