2 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Baking powder
2 tbsp. Sugar
2 Eggs - separated
1 c. Milk
1 c. Buttermilk
2 tbsp. Shortening- melted
Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl. Beat egg yolks and add milk and buttermilk . Combine liquid and dry ingredients, stirring only enough to blend. Add the melted shortening. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in. Drop by spoonful onto hot griddle. Flip when bubbles appear. Makes approx. 2 dozen cakes.
