2 c. sugar 1 t. vanilla
1 c. milk 1/3 stick butter or margarine
1 c. pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Caramelize 1/2 c. sugar in a heavy skillet. Add rest of sugar and milk. Stir until dissolved and cook until it forms a firm soft ball when tested in cold water. (softball: 235º) Add milk. Remove from fire and add butter and vanilla. Beat until it begins to cool; then drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper to set.
