1 1/2 C. Boiling Water
1 C. Quick Oats (dry)
1 C. White Sugar
1 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Shortening
2 Eggs
1/1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Salt
Topping:
6 tbsp. Butter
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1/4 C. Milk or Cream
1/2 C. Nuts (chopped)
1/2 C. Coconut
2 tsp. Vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes. Add remaining cake ingredients and mix well. Pour into 13x9 pan. Bake 350º for 30 minutes.
Topping: Mix topping ingredients in a pan over low heat. Do not boil. Pour over hot cake.
