1 c flour
1 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
1 heaping t lard (substitute Crisco)
5 T milk
Short cake
1 egg
2 T sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Oven Temperature: 450°F. Mix like pie dough. When well mixed, add milk. Stir well with spoon then drop on a plate or cookie sheet a full table spoon at a time. This makes 5 nice-sized biscuits. (Serve warm.) By adding 2 T sugar and 1 egg you will have 5 old-fashioned short cakes from the same recipe.
