1/2 lb German sweet chocolate
1 1/2 T water
4 eggs, separated
2 T powdered sugar
1/2 c pecans, chopped
1 c whipping cream
1 angel food cake - purchased


Directions:
Directions:
Melt Chocolate, add water, remove from heat. add egg yokes, one at a time & beat. Add powdered sugar & nuts. Fold in beaten egg whites & whipped cream
Arrange broken pieces of cake in the bottom of a loaf pan, Pour mixture in, alternating layers. Place in freezer for 24 hours.

Grandma also used to make a lemon variety, rather than chocolate. We think she just used lemon pudding, We think you could substitute chocolate pudding rather than make the chocolate sauce from scratch I tried instant chocolate pudding and did not think is was that great. I made it with pistachio pudding and it was pretty good - Gary 10/18/2009

Grandma Edna Gribbell used to make this for Sunday dinner desert. It was my job to go into the next room and get the desert out of the freezer when it was time. She always covered in with wax paper and it was in a glass dish. --Gary
