1 lb. Ground round (beef)
5 c. water
1 lb. Can Tomatoes
2 Med. Chopped onions
1/3 c. Barley (don’t omit)
2 Chopped carrots
2 Chopped celery stalks
¼ c. catsup
2 tbsp. Beef bouillon granules
2 tsp. Seasoned salt
1 tsp. Crushed Basil
1 Bay leaf
To taste salt & pepper

Directions:
In large pan, brown beef stirring slightly to break up in large pieces. Drain off fat.
Add remaining ingredients (may want to add a couple drops of hot sauce to taste.) Bring to a boil, simmer covered 1 hour or until veg. are tender.. * Can use crock pot after browning beef, if so, cook 4 –5 hours on low.
Can be frozen. Makes 7 –10 cups.
