"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup skim milk powder
2/3 cup white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Put butter and water into blender and then add milk powder and sugar. Blend until smooth. Store in fridge until ready to use. I cool it after it is made so it is the right consistency. Add 1 or 2 tbsp. boiling water if too thick. Use instead of a tin of Eagle Brand condensed milk.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Mom used this as it was cheaper than tinned condensed milk.
Keeps for a few days in fridge, so can be made ahead.
