1½ lb thinly sliced onions
1 ½ oz. butter
1 T. oil
1 t. salt
1 t. salt
¼ t. sugar
1 ½ oz flour
3 ¼ c. boiling beef stock
¼ c. dry white wine
French Bread
½ lb. grated Swiss Cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onions with butter & oil for 15 minutes. Add salt & sugar. Cook 30 – 40 minutes stirring frequently. Add flour & stir in for 3 minutes. Away from heat blend in boiling stock and add in wine. Simmer 40 minutes partially covered. In another pan, slice & fry bread in oil. Place bread in bowl & sprinkle with cheese. Pour soup over & broil for several minutes. Melt cheese on top.
