1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. wheat germ*
1/2 c. melted bacon fat
1 large egg
1/2 c. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix by hand until dough forms. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky or more bacon fat (or water) if the dough is too dry.

Roll out onto a floured surface, just under 1/2-inch thick.
Cut into 1x4-inch bars or use a doggie bone cookie cutter and place on a cookie sheet. Poke little holes into the cookies with a toothpick and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn the oven off, flip the bars, and put back in the oven until cool (this will crisp 'em up).

Treats can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
