1 pint whipping cream
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1 T. vanilla
additional sugar

Preheat oven to 350º

Heat cream over low heat until bubble form around the edge of the pan.

Beat egg yolks and 1/2 cup of sugar until thick, about 3 minutes. Gradually beat in cream. Stir in vanilla.

Divide among 6 6-oz. custard dishes. Place in a pan and pour 1/2 inch hot water into the pan. Bake until set, about 45 minutes. Remove from pan, let cool and chill.

Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons sugar on top of each cup. Place under broiler and heat until sugar turns golden brown. Chill.
