1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. lemon zest
Optional: 1/2 cups chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter and sugar, beat in eggs and almond extract. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Fold in zest and nuts if desired. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 60-70 minutes at 350.

When bread is finished, mix 3 tbsp./ lemon juice with 1/4 cup sugar and pour immediately over bread. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
