3 c. All-purpose flour
1 c. Quick oats
2-3 T. Water
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/3 c. Packed dark brown sugar
1/3 c. Sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Butter flavor Crisco
1/2 c. Butter, room temperature!!
1 T. Dark corn syrup
2 T. Light corn syrup
1 T. Vanilla
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 1/4 c. Semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. Toasted pecans or walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine the flour and oats. In a large stand mixing bowl combine the sugars, butter, Crisco, corn syrups, and vanilla. Add eggs and baking powder, soda and salt until combined. Add flour and oat mixture, chips and nuts stir just until combined. With a large cookie scoop on a baking stone place dollops of cookie dough 2 inches apart. Bake 10 - 12 mins until the cookies just start to brown around the edges. Remove from oven and let stand a couple minutes on stone before removing to wire rack to cool completely. Don't over work the dough or your cookies will be tough!! Should be crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! Makes about 24 cookies.
