3 lbs pork country style ribs
1 gallon sauerkraut
Salt and pepper to taste
2 c. water or to suit (more or less) but not to runny.
4 T. cooking oil

Use crock pot or large pot for final cooking.

Directions:
Directions:
Cut country style ribs to approx. 1/4 lb. pieces
In skillet using oil, brown ribs to a dark brown on all sides
Pour all the sauerkraut into a large crockpot or large pot. Cook on low heat
Immediately add browned ribs with skillet drippings and mix with kraut.
Cook on low for 3-4 hours until meat is "Fall apart tender". Very important!


For a smaller amount cut back on ingredients to suit your purpose.

Serve with cornbread.

Very important to brown the ribs well which imparts a rich color and a wonderful smell in your kitchen.

Remember to cook ribs until "Fall apart tender"!
