1 onion
1 green pepper finely chopped
3 T. butter
2 tomatoes sliced
2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. sweet basil
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 veal steaks
1 egg well beaten
Fine dry bread crumbs
Cooking oil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup Sauterne Wine
Juice of 1 lemon
6 slices mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and green pepper in butter until golden brown. Add tomatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes sauce and seasonings. Simmer while preparing meat. Dip veal steaks in egg, then in bread crumbs. Fry in oil until golden brown. place in a casserole and pour tomato mixture over meat. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top. pour on wine and lemon juice. Cover and bake in slow over (325 º) for 45 minutes or until tender. Just before serving place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each steak and broil until cheese melts.
