1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, slightly beaten
4 c. flours

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar. Put soda and baking powder in milk, slowy mix into sugar mixture.Slowly add 4 c. flour and mix well. Add flavor if desired (i.e. lemon, almond). Roll and cut into strips or use a teaspoon to make a ball and flatten on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10-15 minutes.
