1 quart strawberries
1 cup sugar
3 T. cornstarch
2 T. white Karo Syrup
1 cup water
3 T. dry strawberry jello

Crust:
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup Mazola oil
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. sugar
2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, water, cornstarch & Karo until thick and clear. Set off heat.
Add jello and stir well. Add few drops of red cake coloring and then the strawberries. (leave whole).

Crust:
Mix til oily. Press into pan with spoon or hand. Bake on lower shelf @ 400º until brown. When crust is done, pour the strawberry filling in crust.
Keep in refrigerator.
(May top with whipped cream.)

This recipe was given to me by Wyette, a friend from my "past" life. The pie has been a favorite of ours for 50 years. The crust is like a sugar cookie.
