2 gal. Whole Pickling Cucumbers
1 pt. Salt
3 gal. Water
Alum - size of walnut
2 1/2 qt. Vinegar
8 c. Sugar
2 tsp. Celery Seed
1 c. Ground horse Radish
Cinnamon Bark

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve salt in 1 gal water. Pour over cucumbers and let stand 1 week.
Pour off water, add 1 gal boiling water and let stand 24 hours.
Drain off water, add alum and 1 gal boiling water let stand 24 hours.
Split each cucumber:
Boil vinegar, sugar, cinnamon bark, celery seed and Horse radish, pour over cucumbers and let sit for 4 days. 4th day re-boil solution and pour over cucumbers and jar to can or keep in crock.
