1/2 lb butter
2 3/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour sifted with 2 tsp baking soda
1 pint sour cream
2 oz squares of semi sweet chocolate
2 oz squares bittersweet chocolate
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Sift flour and baking soda. Add alternatively with sour cream. Melt chocolate (use best baking chocolate you can find) Finally add the vanilla.

Bake in a metal layer pan (13X9X2) which can be dropped before baking to get the air out of the batter smoothed. Pan can be lined with parchment paper as well.

Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes. Typically cake will drop.

This is a special cake for a friend Brent met at CIA who was killed in an auto accident one year prior to Brent's passing. His mother sent me the recipe in hopes others would enjoy it as much as Jacob. Jacob and Brent were great friends and this should be made in honor of Jacob.
