Crust:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter softened
1/4 cup Crisco
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup pecans chopped (optional)

Filling:
4 1/2 cups peeled and coarsely chopped apples (about 4 apples)
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons butter (melted)
jar of caramel sauce

Directions:
Directions:
1. in mixing bowl cream butter, shortening,
and brown sugar until fluffy (2-3 minutes)
Add flour, oatmeal, and baking soda;
mix until well combined.
Stir in Pecans, set aside 2 cups,
then press remaining oat mixture into the bottom of an
ungreased 13x9 baking pan.

2. For Filling
Toss apples with flour; spoon over the crust.
melt the butter
drizzle the butter and caramel over the apples.
Top with the reserved oat mixture.

Bake at 400º for 25-30 minutes

Cool before cutting
