Red channa - 1 cup boiled (add salt while boiling)
Onion - 1 no. (chopped)
tomato - 1 big or 2 small (chopped)
sambar powder - 1 1/2 tbsp.
salt - as required
gingerly oil - 2 tbsp.
Mustard seed - 1 tsp.
Tamarind juice - 150 ml. (make sure it has some tangy flavor then extract it accordingly)

Soak the channa a day before and then the next day boil it by adding the required amout of salt. keep a side. Heat the pan and add required oil.add the mustard seeds. once splutters, add the chopped onion and tomatoes. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes in a medium flame.Once tomato squeeze it juices, add the tamarind water and sambar powder.adjust salt and allow it boil for 10 minutes . you can see the semi thick gravy.Switch off the stove.Serve with hot rice.
