½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 ½ cups milk
3 egg yolks beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 banana (do not slice until ready to serve
In sauce pan combine sugar and cornstarch, gradually add milk and stir to mix
Cook and continue stirring over medium heat, until mixture comes to a boil.

Side note: many people like the taste of coconut but not the coconut itself, so I will add some coconut extract to add a coconut taste to it.. If you like coconut add the real thing.
