Ingredients: 1½ - 2 lbs chicken thighs or you can use breasts or a combination 1½ cup mushrooms, sliced 1 onion, chopped 1 cup sour cream 2 cups water ¼ cup vegetable or canola oil salt and pepper (to taste) 1 tsp. onion powder, 1 tsp poultry seasoning, ½ cup flour splash of Kitchen Bouquet 1 package of wide egg noodles

Directions:Preheat oven at 325º. ºPrepare mushrooms and onions by cleaning and slicing mushrooms and put to the side. Dredge individual pieces of chicken in flour blended with seasoning, coating evenly. Place into skillet of 1-2 inches of hot oil (ensure oil is not smoking). Remove after browning and place into greased deep baking dish. In a separate large bowl slowly mix sour cream and water, ensuring consistency is neither too thin or thick; combine with mushrooms and onions. Splash a dash of Kitchen Bouquet into mixture. Pour mixture over chicken and place into preheated oven of 325º for 30 minutes, cooking thoroughly. Cook noodles according directions. |

Notes: This is a really tasty meal... my mother was the best at making it. Just watch temperatures when baking. She also dropped a splash of Kitchen Bouquet to give it a nice rich color...be gentle when adding. Seeing my sisters from so long ago is special; nice family smiles...I think I was in college when this was taken.
