Sauce:
2 t vegetable oil
1/2 t ginger, minced
1 T garlic, chopped
1/2 C soy sauce
1/2 C water

Beef:
3/4 C brown sugar
1 lb. flank steak, sliced 1/4" thick
1/4 C cornstarch
2 large green onions
1 C vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
1. Make sauce by heating oil, add garlic and ginger and saute briefly, add soy sauce and water, add brown sugar, raise heat and boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

2. Coat sliced steak pieces with cornstarch. Let beef sit for 10 minutes.

3. Heat oil in wok of fry pan on high heat. Add beef and saute for 1-2 minutes. It might be necessary to cook in batches so that beef cooks in single layer. Remove with slotted spoon. After all beef is cooked, pour off any excess oil. Return steak to pan.

4. Add sauce, cook for 1-2 minutes. Add sliced green onion and cook for 1 more minute.
