1 cup sugar
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon orange peel
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 bag of chocolate chips

Icing:
1/4 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 or 2 tablespoons milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, pumpkin, butter, orange peel, and mix well. Add in remaining ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

Icing: Cream butter, stir in other ingredients, and frost cookies.

We double this recipe in order to use all the canned pumpkin. Also, we do not include the orange peel, raisins, or nuts.

This is the best cookie recipe we ever made. It has become a fall favorite that everyone always asks for!
