Glazed balsamic onions:
Two or three onions half moon sliced
3 tbs. Balsamic vinegar
2 tbs honey
salt-and-pepper
Canola oil
3 tablespoons Catchup
1/2 tablespoon ancho chili powder
Pinch of Cinnamon
Dash of hot sauce

Hot and sweet Italian sausages:

6–8 Italian sausage. Half sweet half hot.

Cook down onions in the canola oil and vinegar until very soft. Add all other ingredients and cook for five minutes. Add a dash of water if mixture is too thick. Serve on top of grilled sweet and hot Italian sausages on a toasted hoagie bun.

This is really about the glazed balsamic onions. When I was a kid mom and dad took me to New York City and we ate some brats from a street vendor. The topping was called "New York Onions" which blew me away. I have found the recipe and added my twist to it. See if you agree.
