4 (1 -inch thick) slices French bread
2 tbsp. whipped cream cheese
2 tbsp. preserves or jam (any flavor)
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp. butter
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
1. Lay each slice of bread flat on a cutting board. With a small knife, make a "pocket" in each slice by cutting a small slit
through the crust on one side of the bread. (This will hold the filling.)
2. In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese and preserves. Spread about 1 tablespoon of this inside each bread
pocket.
3. Beat together the eggs, milk and sugar with a fork in a shallow dish.
4. Dip each bread slice in the mixture, turning to coat both sides.
