1 egg white
3/4 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
dash salt
1 to 2 tsp. white corn syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Put ingredients (except corn syrup and vanilla) in top of double boiler and place over boiling water (upper pan should not touch boiling water.). Beat with electric mixer until icing stands in stiff peaks, 4 to 7 min. Remove from heat. Change hot water for cold and replace top of double boiler. Add vanilla and syrup; continue mixing until icing stands in shinny peaks stiff enough to hold shape. Spread on cake immediately.
