1/2 cup crunchy-style peanut butter
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (6 oz.) package chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat throughly peanut butter, shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and blend well. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop batter 2 inches apart onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake 10-15 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking pan.
