1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chips, divided
2 T. instant coffee
2 t. boiling water
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Melt over hot water, 1/2 c. chocolate chips. Stir until smooth; cool to room temperature. In a small cup, dissolve instant coffee in boiling water; set aside. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and coffee; beat until creamy. Add egg and melted chips; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in remaining chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350* for 10 - 12 minutes. Allow to stand 2 - 3 minutes before removing from cookie sheets. 2 dozen
