1 C chopped dates
1 C hot water.
1 C butter with 1 C sugar.
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla.
1 3/4 C ( and 2 Tbs) flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 Tbs Cocoa.
1 C chocolate chips.1/2 C chopped nuts.

Directions:
Directions:
Cover 1 C chopped dates with 1 C hot water. In a separate bowl, cream 1 C butter with 1 C sugar. Beat in 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla. Add dates & water

Sift together 1 3/4 C ( and 2 Tbs) flour. 1 tsp baking soda, 1 Tbs Cocoa.
Add to other ingredients.

Stir in 1/2 C chocolate chips. pour into greased 8x8 pan. Sprinkle top with 1/2 C chocolate chips and 1/2 C chopped nuts.

Bake at 375 for 40 minutes
