1 package bacon, diced
2 cups diced onion
2 cups sliced carrots
2 cups diced celery
4 cloves garlic, minced
8 cups chicken broth
90 ounces canned white beans, drained and rinsed
Salt and pepper
1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the bacon in a dutch oven until crisp. Remove, and drain grease.

Return 2 tablespoons grease to dutch oven. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook over medium heat until they start to soften, about 5 minutes. Add garlic, and cook 1 minute. Stir in the chicken broth and beans. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Bring a boil, then reduce to low and let the soup simmer for 1 hour.

Remove half of the soup to a blender. Process until smooth. Return the puree to the soup pot, and stir into remaining soup. Add tomato sauce and the bacon.
