2/3 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. milk
2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla

Chocolate glaze:
1/4 c. water
2 T. butter
1/2 t. vanilla
2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
2 c. conf. sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Heat 2/3 c. brown sugar, 1/3 c. milk and chocolate in top of double boiler until chocolate is melted. Cool slightly. Thoroughly cream shortening and 2/3 c. brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients; add to shortening mixture alternately with 1/2 c. milk. Add vanilla and chocolate mixture. Fill muffin cups 1/2 full. Bake at 375* for about 20 minutes.
Chocolate glaze:
Heat water, butter, vanilla and chocolate; stir until melted. Add conf. sugar. Beat until of spreading consistency. Makes 1 1/2 dozen
