1 C. sifted flour
1/2 C. butter
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 C. butter
1 C. water
1 tsp. almond extract
1 C. sifted flour
3 eggs
Chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Measure first cup of flour into a bowl. Cut in butter. Sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. water and mix with a fork. Round into a ball and divide in half. Pat dough with hands into 2 long strips, 12x3”. Strips should be 3” apart on ungreased baking sheet. Mix 2nd amount of butter and water. Bring to a rolling boil. Add almond flavoring and remove from heat. Stir into flour immediately to keep it from lumping. When smooth and thick add 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth. Divide in half and spread half evenly over each piece of pastry. Bake about 60 minutes, until topping is crisp and nicely browned. Frost with confectioner’s sugar icing and sprinkle generously with chopped nuts.
